Golf is a time consuming and frustrating game, and golfers of all abilities hit golf shots that they aren't happy about. A common complaint of many golfers is not striking the ball well enough, but this isn't always the case. Usually there are other reasons why golfers aren't enjoying golf much on certain days. Here are some golf tips to improve your golf game between lessons with your local pro. IPad apps have come a long way in recent years, however if you are willing to spend a bit more money then it will probably be worth considering investing in an actual golf swing training aid such as a launch monitor or camera system instead. With these golf aids you can see exactly where every shot lands in terms of yardage and how much the golf ball spins. If you are someone who really wants to get better at golf quickly, then watching these golf stats will help you improve your golf game more than any golf tips can. As mentioned before, often golfers don't strike the golf ball well enough on certain days. Using a launch monitor or camera system it is easy to discover what percentage of golf shots are struck too fat (a slice) or too thin (a hook). No golfer wants either of these outcomes on their golf swing, but for most golfers they hit too many slices by accident and need to adjust something in their swing that causes them to hit more hooks instead of slices. Keep hitting balls until you find one matches your usual accuracy so you can make more golf swings like it. Do golfers know what they should be doing if they consistently hit the golf ball too fat or thin? They should just aim further right on the golf course, because that is where you will likely end up if your golf shots are often too far to the left of where you were aiming. If golfers fail to do this then they can get very frustrated and so can someone watching them play golf for their enjoyment. Whatever shot shape a golfer has when striking the golf ball correctly, even if it isn't perfect but still gets good results, they should keep repeating their swing until they find one which goes slightly further than usual and therefore ends up in a better position on the golf course. Don't get hung up on golf swing speeds and golf club head speeds of golfers who play golf at a much higher standard than you do. Just because they make their golf swings faster doesn't mean you can copy their speed and get better results with your own golf swing speed. It will take many years to get that good, if ever. However it might not be such a bad idea to emulate what they are doing in other ways instead, such as making golf practice more fun by playing challenging games like 'golf shot ping pong' for example. If there is one thing I hope most professional golfers practicing and competing on the PGA tour never forget, it's that the ball is just sitting there waiting for them to hit it! Sometimes golfers get a bit careless with golf shots, usually because they just want to take a golf club and hit a golf ball as many times as possible. Don't do this. If you have been playing badly all round then just spend 5 minutes on the driving range ensuring your golf grip is correct before hitting balls again. It will pay off. As mentioned earlier, golfers who play golf can get very frustrated if it doesn't go their way during golf games. One of the best ways to combat this frustration is by practicing more often than usual whenever you feel like quitting golf for good after two bad holes of golf or so. Keep practicing until things start going better again, which might be another 6 holes of golf or so later depending on how golf courses are laid out. You should never try to golf like anyone other than yourself, because doing so will probably lead to golf shots that land either too far left or right of where you were aiming on the golf course. For example, if you golf slice your golf ball (the golf ball lands to the left side of where you aimed) whenever you try copying someone else's golf swing then it is obviously not going to work long term for you as a golfer. If this keeps happening for years and years then it could make all the practice in the world useless because no amount of golf practice will fix any issues related to golfing inaccuracies caused by trying things that aren't part of your own natural golf swing motion. So take golf tips from golf pros with a pinch of salt, because golfers are different and what works for one golfer might not work for you.
